Bruce R. Robinson - Chairman, Belfort Instrument Co.
Following six years as an electrical engineer, Bruce R. Robinson broke his way into the realm of Corporate Development. In 1974, Mr. Robinson started his own company, Quality Measurement Systems, Inc., which he sold to EG&G, Inc., in 1977. Over the course of his involvement, Mr. Robinson raised Quality Measurement Systems to attain annual sales of $5 million. He then joined EG&G as the company’s Director of New Business Development, scoring 22 acquisitions and 4 divestitures over the span of 8 years. Bruce Robinson then spent three years with UNC, Inc. as its Vice President of Corporate Development. He subsequently became the co-owner, President, and Treasurer of KR Acquisitions, a position which he has retained to this day. When KR acquired Belfort Instrument Corporation in 1993 and Gamma Scientific in 1995, Bruce Robinson became the owner and Chairman of both companies. In 1994, Bruce Robinson joined SCIENTECH, Inc., acting as Director and Chairman of its Audit Committee, positions he held until 2003. He then became the Chairman of Utilipoint International, Inc., where he served until 2007.
All of his experience came to a head in 2003, when Bruce Robinson became the President and Chief Executive Officer of QuickStrategy Corporation. QuickStrategy delivers training and education on strategic planning to corporate senior management across the United States. Bruce R. Robinson has also shared his knowledge through the publication of two books QuickStrategy: A Proven Method to Focus and Guide Your Business in Rapidly Changing Markets, published in 2003, and Strategic Acquisitions: A Guide to Growing and Enhancing Your Business, in 1995. Mr. Robinson has been the key lecturer at numerous seminars and workshops on corporate development.
Bruce Robinson attended the Rochester Institute of Technology, where he earned his MBA and BSEE. He is a member of the Association for Corporate Growth, the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, and an engineering honor society called Tau Beta Pi. Mr. Robinson holds patents on a number of measurement, ophthalmic, and weather instruments. For recreation, he spends his time piloting multi-engine airplanes.
